Call for submissions – Open Exhibition

To make our Open Day more interesting we will be running an Open Exhibition which will open the same day August 11th and run until 9th September 2011. Submissions are invited from Lancashire based 2D or 3D artists – the hand-in days are Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July between 11am-4pm. There are no size restrictions and all forms of art are welcome.

To enter, simply bring your work and completed entry form(s) along to Oxheys Mill Studios on one of the hand-in days and see resident artists Lisa Gorton and Denise Swanson, who will curate the exhibition. Work will be hung/displayed during the following week and the exhibition will open on 11th August to co-incide with our Open Day. There will be a Private View for the exhibition between 6-8pm to which all artists and their friends are invited, so you can come to the open day or to the preview evening or both and enjoy the art from local artists.

To cover our costs, entry for wall-hung work is just £5 per item or 3 for £10. A selection of small items such as jewellery, ceramics etc will be accepted on a flat £10 basis. Work can be for sale or display with a small 20% commission to be paid on any sales.

A special area for handing in work will be set up in the loading bay area of Oxheys Mill Studios, on Stanhope Street. Work can be collected after the exhibition on the specified dates and times. There is some limited parking available outside or within a short walk.
