All prints in the exhibition are will be available to buy for just £10 each, making this a perfect chance to buy original work and, unlike most exhibitions, each print sold can be taken away immediately so when they are gone they are gone! All money raised will be used to support Oxheys Mill Studios and Artlab contemporary print studios, helping local artists to continue working and exhibiting their work in Preston. Last year saw Preston’s Artlab contemporary print studios join the 20:20 project for the first time. 20:20 Print Exchange started in 2009 as a project between Hot Bed Press in Salford and Red Hot Press in Southampton. The format was so successful that it was decided to roll this out to more print workshops.
In 2010 there were 120 artists from 10 print workshops involved, in 2011 there were 257 artists from 19 print studios and in 2012 there were 392 artists from 31 workshops producing 9,800 prints!Artlab contemporary print studios were twinned with Seacourt print studio, Bangor, The Print shed, Hereford and Oxford Printmakers co-operative. This meant that a box set was received from each of the twinned studios as well as two random portfolios from the project. These prints will be exhibited and made available for sale on the day.
