Celebrate summer – fusion of visual art & poetry

By Denise on August 5, 2014

We are celebrating our 3rd birthday in style with a special Summer Open exhibition – an exciting fusion of poetry and visual arts, featuring work from over 30 artists from all over Lancashire. Private View event is this Thursday 7th from 6-8pm – all welcome.

A fabulous selection of visual art in all media is on display, including sculpture, various printmaking techniques, paintings, drawings, photography, ceramics, jewellery, glassware and more.

It is not often you find poetry mixed with visual arts so we are really excited to welcome Preston Poets Society, who will be performing some of their poetry on the themes of summer and celebration, during the private view event. A selection of their books will also be available to buy, in the loading bay.

Alongside the exhibition, a special Arts Market featuring a one-day pop-up event will run on Preston Flag Market on August 16th. offering a diverse selection of artworks, cards and small prints, all available to buy, together with art-making activities, performance and workshops. Some of the Preston Poets will also be performing in that event.

Enjoy these opportunities to see, hear, enjoy and buy work created by local artists at affordable prices and join us for our birthday celebrations.
