Lancashire-based artists, we need your help.
Oxheys has been commissioned by the Harris Museum and Preston City Council to create a large-scale arts map of Lancashire for Lancashire Encounter 21-23 September 2018. The aim is to show how much creativity there is in Lancashire, its diversity and how it is interlinked. So if you are a visual artist, musician, performer, a studio, collective or group, practicing or based in Lancashire, we want to hear from you.
Every artist who responds will be represented on the map. You are also invited to send a small jpg photo of a piece of your work or performance, a short example of your written work or a short sound sample of your music or poetry. The connections will be shown, alongside a slideshow of the photos, a collection of written work and a soundscape made from the sound samples. This map will then form part of the large-scale art installation at this year’s Lancashire Encounter.
Make sure you’re included. Simply tell us your name, the type of work you do and medium you work in, the town or village in which you are based and if you are part of a studio or arts organisation.
We also ask you to confirm whether we may store your contact details. This information will never be shared and would only be used to alert you to potential future opportunities or events.
If we have omitted your art form or medium, please forgive us and select ‘other’ then give a few details in the Message box.
Fancy being part of an Art Jam?
We have a limited number of ‘hot’ easels available on the day of 22nd September for visual artists to just come along and create some art and for a limited number of acoustic musicians to just come along and play alongside. Poets, creative writers and performers could also be involved.. Register your interest in taking part by letting us know in the form below. We’ll pick a diverse selection and be in contact with you nearer the time with more details.
Please ONLY send entries via this submission form – those sent by any other means will NOT be included
UPDATE for 2019
Although the Art Jam and Lancashire Encounter events took place during 2018, this is an ongoing project so do submit if you haven’t previously. We also hope to run another Art Jam in 2019.
